I had a great time speaking at the 20th Sesja Linuksowa, one of Poland’s oldest and largest free and open-source software conferences, organized by the Akademickie Stowarzyszenie Informatyczne at Politechnika Wrocławska.

The talk

My session, “Flatcar Linux: An Immutable OS for Containers and Kubernetes,” looked at why traditional mutable Linux systems fall short on modern container platforms and Kubernetes clusters, and how Flatcar Linux’s immutable, image-based model improves upgrades, security, and operational simplicity.

The rest of the event

This year’s edition was bigger than ever, with two parallel talk tracks (one done jointly with PyCon PL and wroc.py) plus workshops running alongside. It was a pleasure to share my experience and talk with so many people interested in Linux. Huge thanks to Akademickie Stowarzyszenie Informatyczne for putting together such a great event, and to everyone who joined my session, asked questions, and stayed around to chat afterwards. Events like this are always a great reminder of how strong and welcoming the open-source community is.
