I had the chance to speak at Bitkom’s AK Software Engineering & Software Architektur webconference, part of a session called “Vibe Coding: Zwischen Prompt und Produktivcode”, hosted by Felix Ansmann.

The talk

My session, “Vibe Coding in Practice: Context Engineering and Driving AI Toward Truth,” shared personal experience using AI at work from several angles. The core argument: AI gives you an approximate solution, and the engineer’s job is to actively drive that output toward objective truth and correctness, mainly through context engineering. I covered where this approach works well, where it breaks down, and what it means for day-to-day engineering practice, followed by a Q&A.

The rest of the session

The agenda covered AI-assisted development from several angles: Tobias Wagner (MaibornWolff) on going from prompt to product, Luis Deppisch (MHP) on agentic development in real production projects using instructions, MCP, and skills, and Thomas Bohn (IBM) on moving from AI coding to design-driven AI engineering. Thanks to Felix Ansmann and Bitkom for organizing, and to Andreas Scharf and Leif Geiger for moderating the discussion.
